Welcome to my first and last blog post this year. My name is Alex Wilkinson, and I operate a photography and video production business, working throughout Nottingham, London and Yorkshire. With my experience and knowledge stemming from an MSc in Biological Photography and Imaging, I have worked all over the world with subjects ranging from chimpanzees, rhinos, fungi and flowers, to Olympians and the former head of MI6.

Sir John Sawyer, the former head of MI6.

I have decided to start writing these blogs to share with you some of my adventures and knowledge I have developed over time. Throughout 2017, I will be bringing to you a range of blogs, covering topics such as tuition, kit reviews, information about projects I am undertaking and discussions about wildlife and the environment. The tuition blogs will be a basic guide for photography, and will hopefully provide you with a good foundation that you can put into practice in any of my workshops or through private tuition.

This Oriental small-clawed otter is just one of the many animals to be seen and photographed during my photography workshops at Twycross Zoo.

I would also like to hear from you! Please let me know if you’ve found any of the things I’ve said useful or interesting, if there’s anything you would like to learn or hear about in the future, or even if you just want to say hi.

For more regular information about what I’m getting up to, to see some of the work I’ve done or to get in touch, please visit my social media channels below, or visit my website.
